In short: Romanian Class II license granted using the existing Maltese structure. Client: Malta-based iGaming game development studio (Malta → Romania).
The challenge
A Malta-based game development studio identified Romania as an important regulated market for distributing its gaming content.
Although established in Malta, the studio had to meet Romania's specific regulatory requirements before supplying its services to the Romanian licensed market.
The company sought professional assistance with the Romanian registration formalities and the Class II licensing process.
Our approach
Szilaghi Consulting guided the client through the registration and licensing procedures. We reviewed the existing corporate documentation, determined the relevant Class II requirements and organized the documentation for submission to ONJN.
We coordinated the application and supported the client with the formalities that apply to a foreign-established B2B gaming supplier, aiming for a clear route to authorization that took the client's existing corporate structure into account.
The outcome
The studio completed its Romanian registration and obtained the Class II gambling license.
It can now supply its licensed gaming content and services to operators in the Romanian regulated market.
Why it matters
For established European game studios, entering another regulated market does not necessarily mean rebuilding the whole business infrastructure.
The right solution depends on the existing corporate structure, the nature of the services and the destination country's licensing requirements.
Client details are withheld by policy. Romanian Class II licensees can be checked in the ONJN public register; references are available on request, with the client's consent.
