Choosing a gambling license — FAQs
What is the cheapest gambling license in 2026?
Among recognized licenses, Anjouan at €17,828 a year, then Nevis at €28,000 and Curaçao at about €24,500 (B2B) or €47,450 (B2C). The cheapest EU-regulated supplier license is Romania Class 2 at €35,000 a year. Costa Rica is sometimes advertised as cheaper, but it issues no gambling license at all.
What is the fastest gambling license to get?
Anjouan, in 2–4 weeks on a complete file. Nevis takes 8–12 weeks, the Isle of Man 10–12 weeks and Curaçao 2–5 months. EU licenses take longer: Malta 4–6 months, Estonia 6–12 months.
Which gambling license is best for payments and banking?
EU and Crown regulators (Malta, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Romania) give the widest access to tier-one acquirers and EMIs. Curaçao is the most widely accepted offshore license; Anjouan suits crypto-native and tier-two payment set-ups.
Is there a license that covers the whole EU?
No. There is no EU gambling passport. Each regulated EU market — Romania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Malta, Germany, Italy, Spain and others — licenses its own players.
Which license should a B2B supplier get first?
Usually Romania Class 2 (€35,000 a year, no GGR tax, 2–3 months) for an EU-regulated credential, then Malta critical supply or the markets your operator clients require. Anjouan now also requires suppliers to its licensees to be authorized.
