From company incorporation to international market access: supporting a game studio across five jurisdictions

Multi-jurisdiction · Game studio · Licensing · Banking

In short: Licensed or approved in five jurisdictions, with company and banking in place. Client: International iGaming game development studio (Romania · Malta · United Kingdom · Colombia · Ontario).

The challenge

An international iGaming game development studio needed a complete legal, regulatory and operational framework to support its business and its expansion into several regulated gambling markets.

The project went well beyond a single gaming license. It involved company incorporation, Romanian B2B licensing, banking arrangements and further regulatory procedures in Malta, the United Kingdom, Colombia and Ontario, Canada.

Managing these requirements across different regulatory systems called for a coordinated approach to company structuring, documentation and compliance.

Our approach

Szilaghi Consulting provided end-to-end assistance across several stages of the client's business development and international expansion:

  • Company incorporation: Establishing the corporate entity and completing the registration procedures.
  • Romanian Class II licensing: Preparing and completing the Romanian B2B gaming license process before ONJN.
  • Banking: Arranging access to suitable corporate banking for the licensed business.
  • Malta: Supporting the applicable regulatory recognition procedure.
  • United Kingdom: Assisting with the relevant gambling software licensing process.
  • Colombia: Supporting the applicable licensing and regulatory approval requirements.
  • Ontario, Canada: Assisting with the supplier registration procedures for market entry.

The outcome

The studio established its corporate and banking infrastructure, obtained its Romanian Class II license, completed the recognition process in Malta and secured the relevant regulatory approvals in the United Kingdom, Colombia and Ontario.

Each market required separate consideration of its regulatory framework, documentation standards and conditions for supplying gaming software. The result is an international regulatory footprint that supports the studio's commercial growth.

Why it matters

For game studios targeting several regulated markets, licensing is not a single, universal process: each jurisdiction has its own authorization requirements and technical standards.

This project shows how we coordinate complex, multi-jurisdiction licensing while handling the corporate and banking requirements the business depends on.

Client details are withheld by policy. Romanian Class II licensees can be checked in the ONJN public register; references are available on request, with the client's consent.
