In short: Romanian company formed, Class II license granted and banking in place, with contracts and certification supported. Client: Malaysian iGaming company (Malaysia → new Romanian company).
The challenge
A Malaysian iGaming company wanted a Romanian business presence and the authorization required to provide its services in the gambling industry.
The project went beyond incorporation and licensing: the client also needed corporate banking, support with commercial agreements and guidance on the certification procedures relevant to its activities.
Entering a regulated European market from Asia combined corporate, regulatory and operational questions that had to be handled together.
Our approach
Szilaghi Consulting worked across five areas, so that corporate arrangements, contracts and certification were considered alongside the license itself:
- Romanian company incorporation: Establishing the Romanian legal entity and completing the corporate registration requirements.
- Class II gambling licensing: Preparing and coordinating the ONJN process and the documentation for the client's B2B activities.
- Corporate banking: Supporting the set-up of banking suited to the business.
- Commercial agreements: Assisting with agreements relevant to the client's activities, covering contractual and regulatory points.
- Technical certification: Assisting with the applicable certification procedures and coordinating the regulatory and technical documentation.
The outcome
The Malaysian company incorporated in Romania, obtained its Class II gambling license and established the required banking.
We also supported its commercial agreements and technical certification matters, building out its contractual and regulatory framework.
Why it matters
A gambling license is an important milestone, but not the only requirement for a working B2B gaming business.
International companies may also need banking infrastructure, well-structured commercial agreements and certification support.
Client details are withheld by policy. Romanian Class II licensees can be checked in the ONJN public register; references are available on request, with the client's consent.
